18Sep The World Tazekka New National Park in Morocco
The National Park Tazekka in Morocco was founded in 1950 with an original area of 6.8 km. It was created to protect natural resources at the top of Jbel Tazekka, including a forest of cedar (Cedrus atlantica), which are isolated in this peak in the Middle Atlas. The national park covers 1980 m altitude mountains, Jbel Tazekka, which dominates the surrounding area.
In 1989, the national park has been expanded to nearly 120 km from the ecological importance (cork oak forests, oaks and canyons and caves, waterfalls and rural landscapes).
