Mysore Palace or Palace of the Maharajah located in the city of Mysore in southern India Mirza Road, is the most beautiful monument in Mysore. One of the biggest palace in the country, also known as Amba Vilas, was the residence of Mysore Wodeyar Mahararaja the state. The original palace was built of wood burned in 1897 and was rebuilt for the twenty-fourth Raja Wodeyar in 1912. Designed in Indo-Saracenic by the famous British architect, Henry Irwin, the palace is a treasure trove of sculptures and exquisite works of art from around the world. A silhouette of Mysore Palace illuminated with ninety-seven thousand bulbs bright against a night of black ink is one of the best-known images of the city.

The Mysore Palace is open every weekday from 10 am to 5:30 pm The palace is illuminated on Sundays, public holidays and state holidays from 7:00 am to 8 pm The palace is illuminated from 7 am to 9 pm only Dasare during the festival.
