13Aug Beijing Badachu Park (Ba Da Chu)
BaDaChu is a large park in the hills west of Beijing, about 8 km south of XiangShan Park and about 25 kilometers from downtown Beijing. Although wooded, the park covers an area of 250 hectares.
BaDaChu Park is composed of eight historic sites: the Buddhist temples and monasteries, some still active, which are nestled in three mountain slopes in western Fragrant Hills.
Visitors can walk a temple to another, enjoying the beauty of the landscape and admire old pine, cypress, willows and gingko trees. Some trees in the park BaDaChu have been standing for over 600 years.
Although not as high as XiangShan, it is still quite a hike to the top of BaDaChu Park (460m), but a very peaceful and pleasant. There are good views of Beijing in the distance. A cable is available for travel up or down.
Particularly popular in autumn when the hills turn red, BaDaChu Park in China is an attractive and peaceful place to visit all year round.
It can happen in BaDaChu by bus or taxi from Xizhimen Pingguoyuan or subway stations.
